“Pat’s People” Christmas Carols Sing-Along Concert
A group of guitar playing enthusiasts from the Pittsburgh area, all of whom are present or past students of one, much loved and respected teacher. Pat Maxin has been playing guitar for more than fifty years and teaching for many of those. She has passed her love of the guitar and its music to hundreds if not thousands in Western Pennsylvania.
The Christmas Carols Sing-Along Concert began a number of years ago, at Border’s Book Store in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, and quickly gained a loyal audience that made a point of returning each year. With the demise of the Borders business, the concert was moved to Northway Christian Church in 2011, and then in 2012 to the warm and friendly Fresh Grounds Coffee House in Greenville. In 2013, the concert returned to Greenville, and was also presented at the Community College in North Pittsburgh. This year, the group is looking forward to “returning home” to Fresh Grounds on November 29th at 7 PM, and will also be playing and singing with audiences in Pittsburgh and Sharon!
The group plays and sings up to forty popular Christmas carols, and invites the audience to join in. Printed song sheets are provided, and the words are also projected on a screen alongside the stage. The public is invited to attend this free event, to participate in a lively and fun evening, and to celebrate with us the upcoming Christmas season. Fresh Grounds provides a menu of affordable hot and cold drinks, including delectable specialty coffees.
