PAINTED STAINED GLASS
INSTRUCTOR: LORA ZILL
If you’d like to explore a new art and craft, try creating a stained glass look without the difficulty and expense of real stained glass. You’ll use paint that is made to simulate the look of real stained glass to create simple, beautiful designs. All materials will be provided: designs to choose from, photo frames, paint, brushes, liquid or strip “leading,” and clean up stuff. This isn’t a messy process, but wear old clothes so you can create without worry. We’ll take two evenings to complete this fun and engaging project.

PLEIN AIR PAINTING
INSTRUCTOR: BEN BECK
En plein air, or plein air painting, is a phrase borrowed from the French equivalent meaning "open (in full) air". It is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors, also called French: peinture sur le motif ("painting of the object(s) or what the eye actually sees"), where a painter reproduces the actual visual conditions seen at the time of the painting. Join us as we hit local spots for a painting experience unlike any other!

Intro to fine Arts
Dibble and Dabble in various art forms and grow in your appreciation for the fine arts. Learn art history and walk away with a hands on experience and hopefully a newly discovered talent and desire for creating artwork Discover your aesthetic and your artistic voice. This is a crash course that could lead to a lifelong intellectual pursuit of any number of art forms using a variety of mediums.
writing your life story
What is your story? Have you been thinking about jotting down some stories from your life for children or grandchildren but don't think you can write or don't know where to start? This class is for you!You do not have to be a skilled writer to enjoy recording your life stories for loved ones. All you need is a desire to learn. We'll talk about how to get and develop ideas, add description and use what Dr Phil calls "defining moments". We'll also discuss how to print your stories and include photographs if you wish. Writing and sharing your personal life stories can be very meaningful and is a great gift idea for the holidays. Come for a relaxing time of learning and sharing
Block & Lino PrintMaking
Its all about the process... This course may challenge the way you think. It requires you to think about positive and negative space, reverse imagery and color reductions. You will begin with simple sketches and work through a fun and exciting craving, inking, hand pressing, paper tearing process. The great thing about printmaking is that you make editions. You can walk away with up to 30 prints (depending on size) covered in the cost of the course. All materials are covered in the tuition. This course a more expensive than others due to the cost involved with all the materials needed to produce a print.
Learn the fine art form of screen printing. This course is great for those who love process and will be working step by step to build an image that will be printed on archival paper. Come with your creative juices flowing, you will be responsible for coming up with your very own image to produce. The great thing about printmaking is that you make editions. You can walk away with up to 30 prints (depending on size) covered in the cost of the course. All materials are covered in the tuition. This course a more expensive than others due to the cost involved with all the materials needed to produce a print.
Are you in interested in design? This course is great for those who love are and are looking for some real world application! Although Adobe Photoshop will be used as a teach tool in the course, some knowledge of this program (or a similar program) is expected. Students will need to bring a laptop or iPad with them and may need to download some editing programs (some extra cost may occur, although we look for free versions when we can). This course explores the elements and principles of design, as well as using composition to produce the best content. Projects include: Poster Design, Mock Web Design, Branding and Typography.
Learn the elements and principles of art in this first-step art course. Drawing is the base for most other art forms and this course is designed to equip students with a good foundation that they can then use as they continue to make art in other mediums such as painting. From perspective to value, all of your basics will be covered.
In this course we will look at the world around us with a fresh perspective, focusing on color shapes and light. Students will have the opportunity to work on still life, figure, landscape and abstract projects. This is a great refresher course for those looking to get back into the art groove as well as first timers. We will work with both acrylics and oils.
